REPOST FROM JANUARY 21, 2026

REPOSTING FROM MY FACEBOOK AGE DATED JANUARY 21, 2026

Yesterday I did a lot of preparation for the winter storm we are  expecting this weekend. I was tired. After I was comfortably in bed, I started looking back on the day and confessing sins. I suddenly realized that while I had read some devotional thoughts and the scriptures that went with them, I had not spent any time reading God’s Word. I confessed that. Clearly, in my head, I heard “Do it now.” My response was not what it should have been. It was cold. I was cozy and warm. I said, “Tomorrow Lord.” Again, I heard, “Do it now.” My response, “Lord, my phone is right here. Let me just read on my phone instead of getting out of bed where it’s cold.” That’s what I did, but that’s not what God was telling me to do. So this morning when I woke up a little before 4:00 a.m., I got my Bible and sat down to read double to make up for yesterday. Doing double today does not make up for being disobedient yesterday. I confessed the sin of not listening to God’s directions to me. How many times do we clearly “hear” God giving us instructions and ignore them or bargain with God about how we will obey Him? I plan to try to remember that I should obey immediately. It doesn’t matter if I am comfortable where I am. If God leads me to do something, I should do it. No excuses. No bargaining.
