REPOST FROM JANUARY 17, 2026

REPOSTING FROM MY FACEBOOK PAGE DATED JANUARY 17, 2026

Read Acts 9:31. Holman Christian Standard Bible 31 So the church throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace, being built up and walking in the fear of the Lord and in the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, and it increased in numbers.

What does this verse teach us about encouragement?

God’s Holy Spirit dwells in us. He is our ultimate source of encouragement. My grandson has Type 1 diabetes. His pancreas does not produce insulin. He has a high-tech insulin pump that the company calls an “artificial pancreas.”  He still has to “tell” it what he is eating, and he still has to fill the reservoir with insulin. He still has to monitor his glucose levels. Sometimes his numbers are high. Sometimes they are low. An artificial pancreas, one that is outside his body, does not work in the same way a healthy organ functions within our bodies. As Christians, as believers in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, we have His Spirit in us producing encouragement, along with many other characteristics. Outside, artificial, kinds of encouragement do not measure up to the true encouragement we have because God’s Spirit lives in us. We cannot and must not depend on outward sources of encouragement when we have true encouragement through God's Spirit living in us.
