REPOST FROM FEBRUARY 9, 2026
REPOSTING FROM MY FACEBOOK PAGE DATED FEBRUARY 9, 2026
Short post this morning. Our Ladies’ Bible study is this morning (and this evening). I’ve been looking over the lesson. Every time I lead a Bible study, I’m overcome with the responsibility of being scripturally accurate and of the words James wrote.
-
James 3:1 Amplified Bible
3 Not many [of you] should become teachers [serving in an official teaching capacity], my brothers and sisters, for you know that we [who are teachers] will [a]be judged by a higher standard [because we have assumed greater accountability and more condemnation if we teach incorrectly].
-
That’s terrifying. Hear my heart. I don’t want to be your teacher. I want to be the person who encourages you to read and study scripture for yourself. I want to be there to help you, but I do not want to be the person who acts like I know more or have more insight than anyone else. Because of Jesus’ sacrificial death and resurrection, we all have access to God’s throne.
-
Ephesians 3:12 Amplified Bible
12 in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him [that is, our faith gives us sufficient courage to freely and openly approach God through Christ].
-
Hebrews 4:16 Amplified Bible
16 Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].
-
Our True Teacher is not a human, but God’s Spirit in us.
-
John 14:26 Amplified Bible
26 But the [a]Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.

If you read what I write or if you are in a class where I lead the discussion, do not look at me as your teacher. Just know that with all my heart I want you to grow in your relationship with God as you study scripture for yourselves.
